Well, I've been busy organizing my front room/craft room.  The room that you enter the house is turning out to be my craft room so I've been starting to make it presentable so I can actually have friends and family over.  I've neglected the house for a while but I recently retired and decided instead of sitting around to organize.

It's been a busy couple of weeks. On Easter weekend my husband and I went to Sherwood Forest Ren. Fest on Saturday. It was a beautiful Texas spring day and we walked through the shops and watched some shows and jousting.  Then on Easter we went to my daughter's in Waco and got to play and watch my grandson hunt Easter eggs.  It was so much fun playing with him and watching him.  He is so smart! He is only 19 months and it was fun watching him as he figured out to look for eggs.  He can already pick up and hold 2 plastic eggs in his little hand! I'm such a proud Mimi!

This past weekend we decided to go to Wimberly, TX and go to their market days.  I found some fantastic things to use to organize my stuff.  I found some really old mason jars, 2 blue Bell jars and an old Presto jar with a glass top (I had never heard of that brand and the lady told me it was real old). I also found a fantastic little cabinet with little drawers in it that I paid $30 for which is a little much for me but my sweet husband let me get it.

Back to my organizing! After looking online to see what other crafters do I decided to put my ribbons in jars.  I have some around the house but have also been finding some at flea markets.  My husband is so sweet and bought me a bookcase at Ikea a month ago but we still haven't put it up, so for now I'm just going through the supplies I have and separating them.

As I have said I do have a disability with my back and neck so it takes me a longer time to do things but slowly I'm doing a little at a time.

Out of contol!

Ok, I'm starting out by starting up my blog again.  I recently retired and noticed I had really let my house get out of hand.  I have a disability with my back and neck and I let my pain take over my life and just went to work came home got supper done and that was about it.  On weekends I did the necessary laundry but nothing else. My house as you can imagine is a disaster.  This is hard to admit but my youngest daughter won't even bring my grandson or her boyfriend over because it's too dirty.  I can't have friends or family over either.  How did I let it get so out of control? It was so easy to just go to work, come home make supper and sit and watch TV every night and not do anything.   On weekends we would go out and do things and the house got neglected.  Several years ago I hurt my back by falling down the stairs and my health went downhill. I have Degenerative Disc Disease and some other things wrong with my back and neck. I've had several surgeries through the years and I used the pain not to do anything. When I was younger and my daughters were young I had a decent home.  I wasn't the best housekeeper but we could have guests over. We can not have anybody over now.  I recently retired and the first month I was doing the same thing, Nothing! Now I have opened my eyes and want things to change for the better.  I want control over my life and my house.  I want my daughter and my grandson to be able to come visit me and not be afraid of germs.  I know it won't happen overnight but I've been doing a little every day.  I still have health problems but I'm not going to let it take over my life, I'm going to work to improve my life and home.
